Have you ever grown weary of praying for the same thing over and over again?
The truth is that sometimes you can pray about the same issue, need, or problem for years and see no apparent improvement.
However, that’s based only on what is seen with the natural eye.
The things which are seen with the natural eye are temporary. Something temporary is subject to change at any moment, regardless of any visible lack of progress. See 2 Corinthians 4:18.
The things which cannot be seen with the natural eye are eternal. Eternity exists outside of the boundaries of time and space that we understand and live by. It’s a spiritual realm that, for the most part, stays invisible to humanity.
The realm of the eternal is only influenced by the temporal realm, by faith. Faith that practices the eternal principles of prayer as taught by God’s Word dramatically impacts our temporal earthly existence. Such faith has the power to reach into the heart of the Kingdom of Heaven and step up confidently before the Throne of Grace.
Consider Daniel. He was told “from the first day,” – “your prayers were heard.” It is clear that even the unseen spiritual warfare could not keep the prayers of the righteous man from being heard!
How much more power in prayer do we (who are in Christ the Beloved) have at our disposal!?
John said, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15).
James said, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16). Or, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
Doctrinally, everything should be established in the mouth of two or three witnesses. Friend, the precious truths of our loving God hearing our petitions and working on our behalf is established by a multitude of witnesses throughout Scripture and history.
“Oh there’s power in prayer
Power to spare
All that you’d ever need
Is waiting right there
With just a few words
A child’s faith
Then it’s good-bye despair
Oh there’s power, so much power
There’s power in prayer.”
