Go BIG or Go Home?

You’ve heard it said, “Go BIG or go home!”

Sometimes, in questioning the favorite catchphrases of our day, I learn a little and find fresh inspiration.

In the building of the temple, Solomon went big. He went really BIG. You can read about it in 2 Chronicles 7. And in his prayer of dedication, Solomon prayed BIG. Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said: “I have heard your prayer…” (verse 12).

What a blessed assurance that must have been!

Can you imagine what it must have felt like to hear the voice of God in response to a heartfelt prayer of dedication?

But friend, you don’t have to imagine it. Praise be to God! You, too, can have that blessed assurance when you pray according to the will of God.

Within the Kingdom of God, we, too, are working on a building.

And the One whose Church we build daily, seeing to strengthen and expand His Kingdom, He sees our BIG labor and dedication. And He hears us when we pray BIG.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15).

I know He hears my earnest prayers. I know He hears your heartfelt prayers.

“Go BIG or go home” – NO thank you!

Let’s go BIG for God and then go Home.

At the end of this life of work, let’s be determined to meet up at His House (in Heaven) with all of our co-laborers.

Pray BIG with me using these song lyrics from Build Your Kingdom Here (Rend Collective) as a guide.

“Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here
We pray”

In the name of Jesus, the Master Builder whose Church we seek to build, we pray. Amen.
