What John Said

The testimony of what others think about you matters most than what you think about yourself. What matters most is what the Lord thinks about you.

We don’t have to guess about what Jesus thought of His contemporary and forerunner, John, the Baptist. He actually said it out loud one day.

Doctor Luke recorded Jesus saying, “I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John” (7:28, ESV). Wow! That’s a lofty compliment. But the next part of this verse is even more important for you and me. Jesus went on to say, “he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he” (7:28, NKJV).

That means that being a part of the Kingdom of God is of vast importance. John the Baptist also preached about the Kingdom. He told his hearers to repent of their sin because the Kingdom of Heaven was near. His entire ministry was built upon his pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ, the manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven.

John the Baptist preached much about Jesus. I believe what John said!

John said Jesus is the Lamb of God. John understood Jesus to be the fulfillment of God’s plan for the promised Messiah. He also prophesied that as the Lamb of God, Jesus would soon take away all sin. “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” I believe what John said!

As one who needed forgiveness, I thank God that the Kingdom of Heaven sent the Lamb of God to take away my sin.

John said Jesus is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. John further testified, “He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit” (John 1:33, NKJV). I believe what John said!

As one who needed this Holy Spirit Baptism, I thank God that the Kingdom of Heaven empowers me to tell others about my Savior.

John said Jesus is the Son of God. John shared, “I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God” (John 1:34, ESV). I believe what John said!

As one who was given the right to become a child of God, I thank God that the Kingdom of Heaven sent the Son of God for my New Birth.

Do you believe what John said? Because Jesus left the Kingdom of Heaven, you and I can be members of the Kingdom of God.

lightstock-social-graphic-miller_believeIs Jesus your Savior and Holy Spirit Baptizer? Has the Son of God given you the right to be a child of God?

Do you understand what it means to be a Christian? Let me tell you more about that here.

I believe what John said. Do you?
