The 3 Most Read of 2023

Most of the years of my life have been 365 days long.

But as we dive into our new year, we’ll discover an added day. 2024 will, in fact, be 366 days long. Leap years help us keep our days and seasons in sync with the revolutionary orbit of our Creator’s sun.

When handled with the proper reflection and evaluation, Christians can treat the occasion of every New Year as an opportunity to resync our life’s orbit around God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 2:15-18).

Looking back on 2023, one thing has become apparent in my blogging world. 80 – 90% of the traffic is due to 10 – 20% of the content. Said differently, a small amount of content draws in most of my readers.

Another startling insight for the 8th full year of this site has emerged. 2023 has seen the most digital traffic ever! It convincingly surpasses the previous seven year’s monthly traffic and daily views. I don’t have a good explanation for that. I’ve actually released fewer new posts this year than usual.

Let’s move onward and upward to the 3 most-read pieces of 2023.

If you’re a regular reader, please click the link and take a quick read, even if it seems a tad familiar to you. It’s always surprising how reading the same thing in a different season can bring a fresh perspective to your soul.

If you’re not a regular reader, I encourage you to click these links, enjoy their intended blessings, and come back often. There are hundreds of articles here for various Christian interests.

3. The third most read of this last year is “3 Proven Ways to Take Advantage of Your Access to God.”

As the title indicates, it discusses taking advantage of our access to God. It comes in about 800 words and will take the average reader over 4 minutes. But I suggest you spend much more time giving serious thought to how to implement these 3 proven ways.

2. Coming as the second most read of the year is “7 New Testament Verses on Holiness that Every Christian Should Ingest.”

This list-post has been up for over 6 years and continues to find new life every year. It’s 680 words and takes less than 4 minutes to read. But the principles found in these verses should be ingested repeatedly.

1. The most-read piece of 2023 is “6 Ways Christians Can Abuse God’s Grace.”

This piece obviously struck a nerve for many people and brought much-needed conviction to most. It’s been up for almost 2.5 years and quickly became my second-most-read piece of all time. With over 1200 words, the average reading time is 7-8 minutes. But I’m convinced that most people are spending much more time than that with this one. Each item on this list-post is filled with links to Scripture.

BONUS – But wait. There’s more! Here’s one more that stretches beyond 2023

The most read piece of all time since this site was founded is…

3 Signs of the Spirit’s Supernatural Arrival” gets regular attention from an international audience. This brief but powerful Pentecostal post highlights the pneumatology that has shaped my Christian journey. It’s less than 600 words and can be read in 3 minutes, but I believe every Christian should spend considerable time considering these 3 signs.

Can I ask a favor of you?

Please share this post or one of the most-read articles from the above list.

I don’t charge anything for the content. And this online ministry doesn’t supplement my income. I know there are ways to do that, but I’ve chosen not to utilize those means.

However, the content is intended to help others. It’s a blessing to be a blessing. But I need your help with that. Yes, it’s as simple as liking and sharing posts on your favorite social media platform.

Thanks in advance. ~ William
